Opening Assembly: A fun and interactive (indoor/outdoor) opening session.
9:00 – 9:20 ASSEMBLY TEAM – CYPRESS COUNSELORS –OFFICE FOR WORSHIP, DEVOTION AND PRAYER TIME. CHILDREN – CYPRESS OPEN ASSEMBLY
10:45 – 11:15
Bible Time: We have a new engaging Bible teacher each week throughout the summer who brings the Bible to life for our campers. Bible time consist of songs, memory verse and the lesson for the day. Picture cards/PowerPoint are just a few ways the lessons are presented. The gospel is given at the end of each session.
Review Game: A fun and interactive end of the day game from our Bible lesson time. Counselors Q & A kids for team points. It's a BLAST!
9:45 – 10:40
Activity Time is our morning “Big” group game time. This is held outdoors and varies from day to day. Man Hunt, Capture the Flag, Relays, Tug of War, Soccer, Kick Ball, Gator Ball, Fishy Fishy, Dodge Ball, Water Games to name a few. It’s a great work-out and a whole lot of fun.
11:15 – 11:45 (1/2 Hour)
Lunch Time: Children gather to enjoy lunch with their friends and counselors. (Campers bring their own lunch, juice or water).
Surf Shack Snacks: Campers visit the Surf Shack and enjoy a cool drink, Ice cream and a sweet or salty snack. Campers can spend up to $2.50 a day (most items cost 1 dollar or less). We also provide a delicious *free snack and ice water. (*For those who forget or do not have canteen money.
Free Snacks vary from day to day.)
Arts/Crafts Center: Each group travels into the art center once a week to create a beautiful and unique camp craft.
Oak Hall Games/Outside Station: Each group takes a tour through Oak Hall every day. This ½ hour cool down station includes: Air hockey, Foosball, Lego building center, Basketball toss, Carpet ball, Hot Wheels track, checkers, chess, board games, and imaginary play. The time goes FAST in Oak!
Outside Station: An fast paced outdoor time - Adventureland, Bike Trail, Basketball Court, Gaga Ball, 4 Square, Outdoor Human Foosball, Playground, Tree Swings and Good News Gulch Western Town. Also, the children will experience “SPECIALS” such as “Slip N Slide,” “Reptile Round Up” “Scavenger Hunts” etc. They are ½ hour rotations.
Our Counselors & Assistants
The counseling staff at Camp Good News is comprised of young men and women who love Jesus and love hanging out with kids! Our counselors are trained and prepared to minister to your children in a safe and godly manner! Each age group consist of (1) leader and (1) or more assistants depending on size and age of the group. All lifeguards, (1) at our lakefront for each group swimming are certified. We follow and adhere to the standards set by the Department of Children and Families. Not only are our campers cared for and ministered to during the summer, but we love and care for our counseling staff as well! We know that happy counselors make for a better experience for your camper! Counselors along with fun activities have group worship/devotions in the morning and the evenings

Lake Time… Is absolutely a camper favorite! Campers can enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and sliding down the waterslide, all under the supervision of our certified lifeguard(s). Boys and Girls swim separately.
Flag Raising/Prayer: We start the day out right! We salute the American and Christian flag and pray for our day at camp.
